WHAT IS TOASTMASTERS?
Toastmasters is a
non-profit community club, which began in
California in 1924 when Dr. Ralph Smedley gathered together a small group of
people to practice the skills of public speaking and how to preside over
meetings. Since then Toastmasters has grown to over 10,000 clubs in 60
countries, and over 3 million people from all walks of life have made
Toastmasters a part of their personal growth.
OUR MISSION
The mission of a
Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning
environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication
and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
